About Me

I’m Nadia Adkins. I’ve immersed myself in nature all my life, and from a young age my experiences outdoors fuelled my imagination and creativity.

Torn between studying science or literature on leaving school, I completed undergraduate and post graduate studies in applied science (health) and animal science which led to work in injury rehabilitation and tertiary education. I’ve also taught yoga, outdoor ed and trained and rehabilitated young racehorses!

A love of yoga and meditation infuses my work and my writing. I help others incorporate breathwork and mindfulness to manage stress, promote self-awareness and empowerment.

I returned to study as a mature age student and completed a Masters in Arts (Writing and Literature) in 2014 from Deakin University.

When I’m not curled up with a book or surrounded by sketches and note pads, imagining new characters in fantastical places, I’m likely at the beach with my dogs, horse-riding, surfing, bushwalking or soaking up the sun on the mid north coast of NSW.
